Satchel & Messenger Bags

Raoul (Spring/Summer 2011 Collection)
I had a nice CNY hol (2 wks ago) and went out for short spurts of window shopping during my study breaks. I've been noticing that satchel bags & messenger bags have been extremely popular especially in middle brands like Zara - I saw mostly sling bags in Zara instead of shoulder/ tote bags. I usually use shoulder/ totes, never cross-body but I'm pretty tempted to start using satchels. It can go really well with the 70s look this Summer- maxi dresses, flared skirts, baggy pants, platform wedges:)

Two of the Zara Messenger Bags i saw that day:

However, i haven't seen many in branded stores in Singapore just yet. When i went to Ngee Ann, the only branded messenger bag i saw was from Chloe (picture of it below) which was a tad expensive i felt.

(It somehow reminds me of the bag i used to carry to school in U.K)

Loewe has always had this satchel style and I loved what I saw when I went on Sunday. My mum told me bags like these used to be the 'in' thing when she was younger and it looks like it is starting to hit the industry full force again. Loved the Loewe 'tan' calf leather. Although I feel the tan colour makes it a little manly looking instead of an 'orangy' brown, the soft leather makes up for this ten fold (the texture is way better than in the picture). Nonetheless, it's definitely a casual everyday bag with a touch of class.

My favourite chocolate in the world

The one week Spring holiday has finally begun:) although i have lots of homework, i'm terribly determined to enjoy it. On Sunday night, my mum and i went to The Marketplace for grocery shopping. To my delight, i found Cadbury "Flake" chocolate. Although it probably doesn't have the best texture or taste in the world, the purple and yellow wrapper brings back memories of U.K. I used to eat tonnes of "flake" in U.K. I loved the crumbly and flaky texture that made it that much more appetizing than other chocolates. So i was uber happy to see that they've finally started exporting it to Singapore although it's not found in all stores yet.

On a side note, i'm so happy to see the Tod's SS 11 collection- it's absolutely beautiful. I'm not well versed in this area but i know a good branded bag/ shoe/ accesory when i see one. Can't wait for it to hit the shops so i can pay a visit and imagine how it'd be for me to own one. I also came across a good store at Cineleisure a couple of days ago- it's called The Editor's Market and sells everything from accesories to shoes to bags to clothes. I rarely shop in that area so it was a real treat to come across such a place. What's best is that the more pieces you purchase, the lower each piece costs. An excuse to buy more stuff! I also brought mummy to a flea location that Missy introduced me to. We went insane and picked up many rings and a couple of miscellaneous stuff so i'm quite pleased that we've managed to get a couple of good buys.

I'm off to a good start this week although i still have quite a lot of work left. Tomorrow's gonna be a busy day so i guess i'll be strapping myself at home on Thursday to complete my work. Am now at my aunty's  place waiting for Kaela to wake up so i can play with her more. She's such a doll. LOVE MY FAMILY ♥
